Mrs. K began her theatre career in high school where she served as Troupe President and an Internationally ranked Honor Thespian. She went on to study opera and vocal pedagogy with the University of West Georgia Opera and ultimately finished her A.A. in Theatre at University of North Georgia and her B.F.A in Musical Theatre at Brenau University where she simultaneously trained with The Gainesville Theatre Alliance (Nationally Acclaimed by Broadway World and OnStage). Mrs. K will finish her Masters in Theatre Pedagogy in the spring of 2021. Mrs. K served previously as the Theatre Coordinator for the Carrollton Center of the Arts, and has worked as an educator in Introductory Theatre, Acting, Voice, Movement, and Dance for schools such as Crossroads Creative Institute, North Georgia School of Music and Dance, Passion Music, Boys and Girls Club of America , Carrollton Center for the Arts, and Villa Rica High School. When she isn’t teaching or directing, Mrs. K still actively performs and has a private voice studio on the side. One of Mrs. K’s favorite Theatre memories is uttering the ancient words of Oedipus Rex by playwright Sophocles at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus—one of the oldest theatre’s in Greece. Mrs. K is so excited to be at Starr’s Mill!
