

ABOUT US
Starr's Mill Theatre is the theatre department at Starr's Mill High School in Fayetteville, Georgia. Within the department, we have two sub-troupes including: International Thespian Society and Starrstruck Improv Theatre. SMTheatre is committed to creating art that will entertain and unite our school and community.



MEET THE DIRECTOR
Lauren Whitaker Kuykendall has been performing her entire life in many mediums, theatre being her favorite. Mrs. K began her theatre career in high school where she served as Troupe President and an Internationally ranked Honor Thespian. She went on to study opera and vocal pedagogy with the University of West Georgia Opera and ultimately finished her A.A. in Theatre at University of North Georgia and her B.F.A in Musical Theatre at Brenau University where she simultaneously trained with The Gainesville Theatre Alliance (Nationally Acclaimed by Broadway World and OnStage). Mrs. K is working on her MFA in Theatre Pedagogy and Directing. Mrs. K served previously as the Theatre Coordinator for the Carrollton Center of the Arts, and has worked as an educator in Introductory Theatre, Acting, Voice, Movement, and Dance for schools such as Crossroads Creative Institute, North Georgia School of Music and Dance, Passion Music, Boys and Girls Club of America , Carrollton Center for the Arts, and Villa Rica High School. When she isn’t teaching or directing, Mrs. K still actively performs and has a private voice studio on the side.
